Who do you think FRIEND is the friend of?
It's Dess' imaginary friend, based off of her old cat doll, Seam who used to have yellow and pink button eyes.

Now, whether FRIEND is just Dess' imagination brought to life by the Dark or if FRIEND is some demon in the Dark using Dess' old doll's appearance to appeal to her, that's something more open for exploration.

I don't think Seam is FRIEND. I think FRIEND is using Seam's likeness as a means to appeal to Dess and be her FRIEND.

I think Seam was Dess' old childhood doll, and he originally had yellow and pink buttons for the eyes.
