These laws are being pushed by the leftovers of the religious right. Many of which don't even fully like Trump but are more than happy to use Republican dominance for their own uses. Lastly, while this is shitty, it is the most they can actually do. A restriction that is easy to work around, and they don't actually have a way of enforcing on sites (many sites such as this one just straight up ignore the laws). I'm sure this company only did it after being harassed, or by certain factors within whatever western branch they may have. You'll notice that the only sites that put the age restriction in, are the leftwing ones otherwise. They are trying to push some "your porn is being banned" narrative. The retarded fundamentalist guys just gave them something convenient to maliciously comply with. This whole angle was apparent during the campaign season. It started with some bizarre ad they made with a Republican lawmaker watching a guy jack off. Their last ditch only hope to try and get the male vote. They probably also do this on 4chan in particular because they think if they get us on their side, we'll "meme them into victory" or some shit.
