Words of advice, capital and major regions are full of immigrants, but that doesn't matter because malays are the asian equivalent of niggers
If you buy some remote land that's like within an hour drive of a town to get groceries and stuff that would be the gold standard in my opinion, if you just want to live in peace.
Small towns are better, just learn the local language enough and you shouldn't have many problems. Closer to the capital will be more English speakers, so even if you only speak English you should be able to get around without much problems. Be aware though as people will see foreigners as a cash cow, will try to scam you, rob you, etc.
