The merge actually started before the dissolution of the mobage general. The first thing I did was include the CGdex from the old Project iM@S website in the OP. That upset a couple of people.
Then I started using CG and ML OP images in the main general, and boy did that really make people upset. I can't remember which CG I first used, but the first ML I used was Subaru.
My position back then was "iDOLM@STER is iDOLM@STER" and I saw little reason to exclude the newer parts of the franchise. My feelings have not changed, all these years later.
