I know the actual answer is "lol Nintendo doesn't care about canon", but where DOES this game actually fit?
New Donk looks the same as it did in Odyssey, Cranky, Diddy, and Dixie pretty confirmed the previous games happened, and K.Rool himself in New Donk acted like this was the first time he's interacted with a human Kingdom, or humans in general, so likely hasn't met any of the core Mario cast.
