also possibly giving the other pilot time to react because what he is doing is instantly obvious, versus doing sabotage that takes few more crucial seconds to realize

and that is the logical explanation that i try to think, remind that we are talking about a poo mind, not a human mind, it often defies any logic
jeets often do not want direct confrontation but they rather use underhanded ways like scams and grifts
