Fallout 2 > Fallout 1 > Fallout: New Vegas > Fallout 4 = Fallout Tactics (idk which one is worse) > Fallout 3 > Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel
with mods being
Sonora > Nevada > 1.5 Resurrection > Olympus 2207, but it's kinda unfair since all of them do a different take on Fallout
> most cohesive and refined attempt to capture the idea of Fallout's take on post-apocalypse
> Fallout 0 in a universe where the series died in 2004, never to return
> Fallout 1 if it was released by an obscure Czech studio and became a cult classic
> a post-apocalyptic CRPG if it followed how Europeans see post-apocalypse instead of Americans

I'd say Nevada first because it's a very peculiar experience (imagine a Fallout game where supermutants don't exist yet, Gecko is just lifeless ruins of an NPP because ghouls haven't migrated there so far and Vegas is straight up Las Vegas) and there's A LOT of things in Nevada to the point devs actually cut some things in newer updates. On the other hand, Sonora is just perfect with what it does, but is considerably leaner around the curves. If you only have time to play exactly one game, do Sonora, but if you like the classics, I'd rather play all four of the mods just for the perspectives they offer.

( >>715033202 anon) Losing control of yourself or the situation around you while remaining conscious about it. Time loops/situations where you're locked in a place with no possible way out (even death) are horrifying. Stuff like dementation or having your mind be slowly erased by a tool or an entity something while the only things you can do is contemplate how your mom will cradle you like a baby for the rest of your/her life. Incurable preventable diseases like rabies, some Russian anon had a post on an imageboard that described him having late stage rabies without him knowing what it is and it's still one of the more horrible things i've read. Degenerative nerve diseases. I'm a BFS guy and waiting for it to be confirmed as BFS and not whatever Stephen Hawking had was one of the more nerve-wracking experiences of my life. I used to be afraid of apocalypse events a lot when I was a kid. Now I can't be bothered to learn about them, so that one has receded. I wonder how big the doomsday fearer-hypochondriac pipeline is. The Caretaker doesn't do much for me, I like his earlier albums like Selected Memories from the Haunted Ballroom more. September 1939 is a very accurate audio recreation of a time i almost passed out from a lack of air/hydration. I've checked a timeloop pasta i liked when i used to be an avid reader of pastas and it still does the thing for me.
