People that make crying about le wokeness as part of their usual critiques are able to pick and choose what they consider over-the-line for what they cry about.
Generally they do this by determining if people will agree or disagree: people actually like blue-eyed samurai, so they know if they start throwing a shitfit and calling it unwatchably woke, people will call them fucking obnoxious. Nobody was asking for a buzz lightyear movie and most people generally thought it was a shallow cash grab, so picking at the most surface level "woke elements" is more publicly accepted.
tl;dr: anti-wokies generally care about optics and want as many people as possible to agree with them, so they won't go after media that normal people like

You heavily overestimate how many people in /xivg/ do content harder than roulettes. Plus you can see how we went from filling full groups, to getting less than 48, to getting barely enough to do it, to now getting less than needed. The interest is no longer there because people realized what the content was, and simple put, people don't care about "hard" content, not to mention that even with the ability to skip instance prog, some people just don't got the commitment to show up at a certain time, to wait for the parties to fill, for the ready check to go through, to queue inside, to realize someone is 19, to realize people don't got ciphers, to having to relevel that person, back out, go back in, wait for the weather, wait for the platform to stop glowing, set up what jobs people will play, set up what phantom jobs people will play. All that alone is about an hour of literally not playing the content, for what, to wipe on the first boss 3-4 minutes into the encounter and having to redo everything again?
You can dislike Discord all you want, I certainly do, but you cannot deny that it speeds up things MASSIVELY due how fucking shit this content was designed, and anyone that wanted a clear, got one thanks to it. Even if we were to fill a 48 man group again, I can guarantee you from having done Forked Tower myself, this is not content you can beat in a week, or two, not with a group of people that have their mindset into it, I joined a "static" for this, even people that cleared it, we met up for 3 weekends, 6 hours total of prog, so 18 hours+ and we barely got to the third boss (of 4, with the lengthy 'puzzle' section before it) it obviously disbanded, people didn't wanted to waste their weekends non stop, and the interested dwindled over time.
In short, you are looking to get 24-48 people from a community who may be compromised of 30% people who raid and to show up for over a month in an encounter that takes an hour to get in and 5 minutes to wipe.

It's not a rebrand or a compromise
It's the result of the ambiguity of language
Some people think "furry" means anyone that finds any anthro character attractive. By this measure a majority of people are furries. Ever seen a "hear me out" party? Like 99% of basic bitches wanted fox Robin Hood and 99% of basic dudes wanted Lola Bunny.
Others think "furry" exclusively refers to the people that buy or make massive mascot costumes and go to cons and fuck each other in said costumes. That's a vanishingly small portion of the population.
Then there's all this grey area of people that identify as anthros or outright animals but don't dress up, people that participate in chats but don't identify as anything strange, people that draw "anthro art," etc.
What's funny to me is that the original furry hate was specifically targeted at fursuiters and the most obnoxious and dramatic whiners (pic very related), but modern retards desperate to fit in with SA culture that died before they were born don't get that and think they're supposed to want to murder people that post Judy Hopps.

>Should've optimized it around my eight year old graphics card.
unironically yes
if you're a game developer releasing a mass market game right now and you aren't targeting the PS4 as your absolute minimum specs you're retarded. The PS5 and RTX cards have had a spectacular failure in taking over the marketshare. Every previous gaming "generation" was a transition period and then the new having taken over but this gen failed to get the ball rolling hard enough to make these high-minimum-spec games make financial sense.
Only a third of Steam users have an RTX card of any kind. Really think about that for a second.
