I ignore this "fact" because I've spent the last 10 years hacking around all that bullshit and I'm tired of doing it. If I wanted to keep doing that I would continue using custom USE flags in Gentoo instead of being downstream to two of the worse offenders in the Linux ecosystem. There is no point in so much wasted effort when I can simply use a proper OS that is not being lead around by the nose by IBM and DARPA.

Enjoy your "freedom" to patch every piece of software on your system while the kernel gets a little worse each year and more and more cancer invades userspace everyday. If you want to impress me try starting a real distro instead of patching someone's sloppy seconds. You can start by forking the kernel. Furthermore, try doing something interesting like building it around s6 and Arcan.
