One thing I learned in my journey is that you should not expect too much.
In fact, expect to be disillussioned. The Church would always be a disappointment because we are corrupted. They have God's guidance right in front of them and yet, they still act like ordinary people, which would always disappoint
But nevertheless, God allowed them to have that position and we have to respect that.
Even Jesus had to be baptized by someone inferior. The Law and the proper chain of command takes priority over personal opinion over the person.
Their duty is to deliver the sacraments. Everything else can be ignored

First off, the convent never burned.
Secondly, the book that talks about the prophecy is not what you should be looking at but the source itself
And by source, I mean the person who got the vision - Mariana de Jesús de Paredes
We know that the prophecy is real by the fact that she's been a legend amongst the faithful within the colony. It fact, she got her first attention for canonization under King Charles II of Spain. We have mentions of the study for her canonization as early as 1757
Thus, it doesn't make sense to call the book a fake when it is merely a secondary material to the stuff that was happening around Mother Mariana

Also, it is accepted since the very beginning that a scripture can be written by someone else (i.e some OT scriptures talk about deaths of the judges and apostles, thus we can conclude that someone else wrote them). What matters is that they are "Divinely Inspired" which means that it must always adhere to the revelations of the previous scriptures without contradicting one.
