if you break or damage the cable it's more annoying to replace, and some anon here have been known to break a lot of cables. Some headphones have been known to have issues with soldering in general, such as the k701/k702 where one cup just decides to break for no reason, same with beyers, although maybe less often. It doesn't help some of these companies make excuses for still doing it like when beyer said that most cables are broken from the socket when they get replaced, which is clearly not the case

k702s break in sub 2 years, are made in china, sound like garbage and have absolutely no padding on the headband unless you mod them. The only thing they do well is having a wide soundstage for their price point, they do absolutely everything else horribly and are so piercing that they make beyers cheap line seem reasonable

not a lot of good closed backs in that range. If your buying used you can probably get a pair of closed back aeons, which would be better than basically anything else you would find near that price point
