Damn, that brings back some memories. I actually knew a girl like that a long time ago. It was so long ago that this was a chubby goth girl because emo hadn't been invented yet.

She was pretty cool and we hung out in the same circle of friends (back when I had friends), she'd always come up and talk to me. Thinking back it was obvious she had a crush on me but I never asked her out or tried to take things past the "we're just friends" stage because, well she was fat, after all.

All these years later it seems clear to me now that if I'd had a romantic relationship with her it would have almost certainly worked out better than the ones I had with skinny girls who always eventually acted like they were too good to have settled for me. Kicking myself now.
