You had fucking Admirals casually getting destroyed by pirates that weren't even captains, yonkous all together in one crew, island-sinking wars starting left and right between pirate crews and god's knights.

You look at the modern era and it's one massive stalemate where no one's doing anything for the last 20 years and the greatest threat to the WG, Luffy, is getting played around with by an Admiral.
