depends on what you're looking for because nothing is flat out superior, which doesn't mean skyrim is good, but that everything is really really bad.
if you want a skyrim that treats you like an adult, you could mod it out though I don't know how much success you'd have, or you could go back to morrowind which is just better in that regard.
if you just want some open world medieval shit, just play KCD.
video games are dead at this point desu. this board is held up by kids playing their first COD or elder scrolls game, basically. it's not for people past age 18 which is ironic as you have to be 18+ to be here.
we should literally have full life simulators that let you play God and do whatever you want, but we don't, because the industry has prioritized in-game purchases and turning kids into gambling addicts because that makes more money than making something truly novel or great. To avoid any backlash, they slap on whatever new graphics technology is out, and the normie retards go OOOO AAAH and think they're getting something new or worth a penny.
Everything is just a fucking remaster or "updated" to include in-game purchases and gambling mechanics. It's all dead. Some little indie games are the last bastion of any novelty or anything people actually FUCKING WANT, but they just don't have to skills/resources to make anything grandiose like a "Elder Scrolls replacement" or whatever.
