The jet brigade sucks just as hard from the galactic war aspect. The fact there is no way to stop them from taking the first planet they attack, apart from relying on a single DSS action that may or may not be active at the time, is fucking stupid. The subfaction literally exists just to halt and reset our GW progress whenever Joel feels like it. Why not just give them the health bar mechanic that the great host has instead of relying on Joel to go "trust me" whenever he changes the attack level as he sees fit.
