Is it worth upgrading my PC despite the 40XX and 50XX series being so underwhelming and overpriced?

Have had this PC since '18, now I barely play anything new on it because it can't run games for shit.
Honestly I want to upgrade but it feels like a bad time to upgrade and the 40XX and 50XX RTX series feel like they are pretty low quality pound-for-pound performance-wise, and AMD cards suck as much ass as ever.
No idea what to do. In the meantime, enjoying my Switch 2, at least. Deck 2 when?
