I basically built my dream PC just this May, that will hopefully last me till 2030 with no upgrades needed.

then the other stuff like fans and cooler and case.
also got an OLED MSI screen, that may be upgraded in a few years but it's my first one and I love it.
overall it was quite pricey, ~$8k for this build including that monitor, but hopefully I can be stress free in regards to not having to worry about games not running at max without issue.

also, glad I bought the Astral 5090 cause that card is SUPER cool, running intensive games at max and I haven't gone above 60c for the whole PC temp, it's actually crazy

I'm happy with my current 7950X3D + 4090 system. I'll upgrade again when performance improves more significantly.

What I would love to have though is a good monitor. OLED is literally suicidal technology and dims in bright scenes, FALD LCDs get haloing and other crap in dark scenes, fucking nobody makes a good monitor that doesn't suck absolutely major ass in some way.

I already got the 5070ti and 7800X3D.
Getting the next tier of hardware wouldn't change much. A 4090 or 5090 would only get me worried about starting an Nvidia sponsored housefire.
Also got the LG C1 oled that I only turn on for gaming. This is still the best oled display for games so downgrading to the C2-C5 any other TV wouldn't make any sense.

It already works at 120hz. But more Hz = better. On my C1 I can stack it with the display's hardware BFI mode that already works similar to this software so I get even more motion clarity for 60fps games.
You can try it out in Retroarch. It likely won't work on VA displays btw, unless you have those Samsung ones, and IPSes need anti retention turned on.

She meant to say something like "I used to X before graduating..." but instead said "I used to X before marrying..." and then quickly corrected herself to "graduating". Don't know if she genuinely fucked up saying that or whatever but I looked at her hands and noticed she did have a ring on her ring finger so I just dropped any pretense of trying to ask her out on a date or even fuck her, despite her clearly seeming to be interested in me.

I just finished the conversation and left, then whenever I saw her any other time, I didn't bother to say behind and chat as I used to as much before and kept everything super basic. Haven't seen her anymore now, seems to have quit her job here.

I kind of feel like shit cause she was actually attractive and it's usually rare for me to just immediately like someone at first glance like that, but I really have no intention of going out and sleeping with someone else's woman, regardless if the context is that she's in an abusive relationship and just "wants to escape" or whatever. Is this supposed to be some sort of excuse? It's a display, it's supposed to show the image coming down the cable as accurately as possible no matter what the image is, not to shit itself and go into protection mode because the image is too bright.

I could afford not to care from a financial point of view and just replace the monitor yearly or something, but I have a fundamental hatred of shitty products that aren't made to last so I am not going to spend money on a monitor that's going to last me less than a fucking smartphone battery, nah. I think OLED is great for TVs, at least for my use case, because I use my TV a lot less than I use a monitor. The monitor will have to work 8h every weekday for my actual work which is unavoidably going to have a lot of static content on-screen and OLED is super shit at that, the TV gets maybe 1-2h of use in the evening and without static content so it's alright there.

well 9800x3D as i would like to try AMD CPU for once. 7800x3D can be enough but supply and demand made it so that there is a very little difference in between these two CPUs.
Some Nvidia GPU. Maybe 4080 Ti/Super whatever extra version there is. I don't really trust 5000 series.
MB with wifi and BT, because my router is in a really odd position so wireless works better for me and BT usually comes with it too. 2-4 M.2 slots usually filled with 2TB, but if it was a bit more dreamy then 4TB, 4 Sata slot for 1 Sata SSD and two 4 TB HDD
128 GB of RAM. Technically 64GB could be enough. I may run emulators and one WM for old games in case i need it. And it's a dream setup so gotta dream big.

Have had this PC since '18, now I barely play anything new on it because it can't run games for shit.

Honestly I want to upgrade but it feels like a bad time to upgrade and the 40XX and 50XX RTX series feel like they are pretty low quality pound-for-pound performance-wise, and AMD cards suck as much ass as ever.
