Now that the dust has settled, why did the Yorick midscope flop so hard?

What did I, as a Yorick player, actually gain from this midscope?
>gameplay
watered down
>build variety
dead, build triforce or lose
>ghoul fantasy
dead, they don't do damage
>role variety
went from a niche OTP thing pre-midscope to grossly OP and then utterly obliterated post-midscope
>scaling
gone, he's a lane bully who peaks at 1 item now

Literally what was the point? Did Phreak just get asshurt about losing to a Yorick or something? If I wanted to walk up and bonk people I have a dozen other toplaners for that

what was the point?

gone

All so that Yorick can be better at walking up and BONKING you while healing for trillions of HP
