This'd be true if mastering the movement was necessary to perform well, but it isn't. You can contribute to the team by grunt farming or playing like a camping fag with the DMR/Spitfire. The low TTK means that despite flying across the map at 80km/h and nailing fuckers with the Kraber, I can still die in 0.3s if a retard who just picked up the game lands a CAR spray on me. This doesn't mean experienced players don't perform well most of the time, but it's unfair to compare the pro-to-newbie skill gap of TF|2, which just consists of a disparity in movement and aiming, to that of arena shooters, where on top of advanced movement and good aim, pros have to understand how to control the map and usually have all the spawns, item pickups and routes memorized.
