Well we know her grandma is dead, and Kyuu-chan used to belong to her grandparents. They adopted Kyuu-chan because her grandpa couldn't take care of him on his own anymore.

They're going over to grandma's house next week. Kyuu-chan will probably smell his old owner and see old photos in the house, and start sadly barking, asking where she went. Dogs do that.

Later on, Kyuu-chan remembers a trinket from Grandma that he buried in the backyard there, and goes off with Purirun to dig it up...
