I've had the same experience but I've come to realize that sometimes there's just nothing to say about a drawing. Either the drawing has to be technically impressive, or have some sort of 'storytelling' for it to actually engage with people. I understand when I get no responses on my 'idle pose character in white void' beyond the occasional "nice" and there's nothing really wrong with that
