they won't actually die (at least not both, ralsei might) but i think a big part of the rest of susie's character journey will be having to more fully accept that ralsei's 'not real' + learning that Kris is also not really who she thought he was, basically grappling with the fact the 2 good close friends she finally was able to make are both "not even real"

obv i do expect at least kris to be able to eventually become his own person enough and obviously will be susie's friend for real but that might not happen till the very end, and worst come to worst he might have to 'go home' to another dimension or some crazy shit and leave her alone, but him and ralsei would comfort her and really butter her up about being able to live without them and make plenty of new friends all on her own
also she should at least have the rest of the lightners her age which she'll hopefully be legit friends with by the end -- obviously noelle, but probably would actually really like hanging out with even berdly with how much she already knows him even if she'd pick on him a lot, and hopefully at least catti/jock too by the end lol (but seeing her awkwardly try to hang out unironically with berdly in particular would be fucking adorable let me pretend)
