Yup. It's amazing how much screentime they spend explaining all this, yet people all these years later still don't get it. Morpheus was a pawn too and she told him plenty of false things. I feel like that should have caused more of an effect but it just went "how can we trust you" "make up your own damn mind" "ok" and that was that.
Also, it seems more like the AI's don't truly hate humanity. They were pissed long ago, got their revenge, now want to co-exist, but it's obviously impossible if they just release them. Even Architect believes that the only way to co-exist is if Humans are in the simulated reality since they will always chimp out. So Oracle's job was to find a way to either get the Matrix to last forever or find a way to finally make peace. Oracle did that through them worshiping the One and having him sacrifice himself for them as well as forcing the Machine God to make a deal with him.
