what if they made Outremer into a civ, something that represents the Crusader States
make it a defensive and cavalry civ with the Knight Templar their UU, and give them a unique tech or bonus that increases relic gold generation or give them a trickle of gold based on villager numbers to represent the fact the crusaders were a bunch of greedy banker assholes making mad profit off pilgrim retards
