>What's stopping it from being Rudy
He's bedridden and dying of cancer, he didn't sprint across town with an angry spearfish over his shoulder
>Why is Dess the only person in the fucking game who can hold a bat?
But it's not really a bat, is it? The Knight's weapon is called The Black Knife. It's a sword made out of some mysterious black glass. That's a pretty cool weapon for your big bad guy, right?
So why did Toby Fox decide that when the main villain is shockingly revealed, the last thing you see them do before they fight you is pull out what is clearly a baseball bat and hold it there for you to get a good look at for about three seconds before it actually becomes the sword?
What's the point of this all being one big misdirection? Weren't the antlers enough of a hint if it's just supposed to be another Holiday?

>That's just one weird sprite
Yeah sure man, they just held that shot of her pulling out a baseball for three seconds at the start of her fight by accident
>If this were the case, Kris and Susie should at least show some signs of this darkness illness by now but they don't.
Kris and Susie have spent maybe a day or two in the Dark World
Dess was lost for YEARS
Her Black Knife - and probably her "armor" - is also made of some kind of evil black "glass," like crystalized darkness. Exposure to this material specifically might have been what turned her into The Knight.
>the knight is wearing some sort of armor and is not corrupted by the dark.
Her "helmet" and "armor" can also split open at will and transform along with her whole body into an orb to fly around, there's obviously more going on here than some sick clothes, if the "floating with power and leaving afterimages behind" wasn't enough to clue you in
>why couldn't Dess just go back with her family after escaping the supposed darkness
Because she's become some kind of shadow monster and the overarching thematic conflict of the game seems to be heading toward "bringing things back to how they should be"
Carol does not want her daughter to be a nine foot tall shadow monster and Dess probably isn't thrilled about it either, they want to change her back to normal.
