The second case involved a Golani Brigade soldier who shot himself at the Sde Teiman base after returning from Gaza. Israeli media reported that he was under military police investigation at the time and had previously had his weapon confiscated. He used a fellow soldier’s firearm while his unit was asleep. Reports noted that a roadside bomb had recently killed a close friend of his in Gaza.
