there was originally a much bigger plan for beasts/theridons but im pretty sure that was scrapped when old world stole beasts of chaos and the aos team had to rewrite and rebrand all the units that were going to be a part of it

my suspicion is that kragnos was originally supposed to be the new BoC faction leader, while theridons were going to be the bullgor redesign, but when old world convinced the higher ups to let them steal beasts from aos they had to pivot and try to erase the connective tissue in the sculpts and change the story, though you can still see quite a bit of it in the face/horns/mohawks and the fact that kragnos has chaos spines similar to like the varanguard mounts, and also shares some design elements with the warcry centurion like being a centaur with big jutting horns.

i dont care what anyone else says, there are too many similarities, especially in the faces of kragnos and the theridons which are virtually identical and the fact that kragnos is completely out of place amongst any of the destruction factions, sharing zero aesthetic with any of them and a great deal of aesthetic with chaos and beasts
