True. WHFB got more and more grimderp once you get past the surface as time went on. We've had entire past threads discussing how infeasible much of the human kingdoms are, even with magic. Take Bretonnia where they added all sorts of stupid grimderp where the nobles, in a society where land ownership is family inherited, are inexplicably 0 inbred while peasants are practically another species. Where noblemen kids have to prove themselves in battle and many die. That is hardly scratching the surface of nonsense grimderp. What's worse is Bretonnia wasn't always like this. Even the Empire and being mostly forests where Beastmen rape you to death has plenty of logistical problems considering how they sustain their populations and numbers.

Too much of the Empire is forest. The vast majority of their lands are infested with beastmen and green skins. The empire is really just a bunch of city states surrounded by forests, with only the southern provinces resembling anything worth living in. Bretonnia is geographically smaller but most of that land is verdant fields, great for farming, horses and livestock. Far more of its land is habitable and productive and covered in villages, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bretonnia actually has the larger population. Just look at them on the map - the Empire is almost completely covered in forest, while Bretonnia has three major forests, but a lot more open plains.

Then they announced the Drekki RoR and I was like, sweet, I can buy Kharadron models for my Cities army! If you prime them white and are going for an easy contrast scheme to just get them on the table, then you should be able to get through them fairly fast. I would guess 15-20 minutes per model, as long as you are trying to stay between the lines. Probably less than that as you get comfortable with your scheme. Its really just one color for flesh, metal, leather, cloth, and wood. You can use the cloth color on parts of the shields to tie it all together. Transfers are also really easy to use, so don't be afraid of them. Good luck anon

no, clanrats are as free as a skaven can be, they're not slaves, skavenslaves also had a separate unit profile altogether, but they never had a separate kit of their own, you were supposed to use the half of the clanrat modesl that featured the more misshapen and less armoured designs

they were pure cancer on the tabletop when they were a thing in 8th edition because they costed 2.5 points per model, the lowest cost of any unit in the game and the only point cost with decimals, and because that edition allowed large units to be practically immovable anvils

I think this scheme would work, the shields are just one unit out of the army, hardly a fundamental part of the army, you can paint those in simpler cruder metallics and reserve the yellow and freehand for cloths and hats
