This is entirely the result of a continual buzz about modding and how Bethesda games are a modding platform. It's a sign that even the normalfags are wanting in on mods but they don't want to spend hours downloading mods, downloading patches, going into xEdit and fixing anything that the patches don't, running dindulod, etc.
