No, the moment the infected started to have invidual traits and even started to look different, the moment this shit stepped into the monster territory. Alpha zombies is almost videogame like, that's why this movie suffer from tropes that have been used to oblivion, but that doesn't mean the movie is bad, it's just nothing new. During the whole movie the problem of blood splatter became almost nonexistant, plenty of scenes where they could have gotten infected by a single drop in the eye but it didn't happen because of the script, if you have such a thick plot armor then killing zombies like they're power ranger goonies it's completely feasible. It also shows that a zombie apocalypse doesn't have to make you a total faggot like Johnson's character, Jimmy had it worse yet he is out there taking the filth.
