I just watched Sonic and Tails R for the first time and THAT’S how they should be characterized. Sonic, while still generally cocky, is supportive of his bro and doesn’t overstep and lets him do things on his own. Tails, while he does still occasionally doubt himself, still puts his desire to be Sonic’s equal first and isn’t a huge pussy
