It's still better than believed in delusional fairytales about a loving creator who nevertheless enshrine pain and suffering into the basic makeup of his reality. At least with Gnosticism you get a semi-realistic take on the nature of existence, even if the details themselves are fuzzy. One doesn't have to treat it as a religion to understand that there's solid kernels of truth buried within Gnostic teachings.
Again, anons take this shit way too literally. But there's something to be said about the whole idea of overcoming one's baser nature and ascending out of this material prison purely on the strength of one's conviction and spiritual growth. It sure as hell beats waiting for daddy YHWH to nail himself to a cross again and bail out your sinning ass.
There's innumerably reasons to loathe the Abrahamic faiths, chief among them the fact they all impose a slave morality on their adherents. Submission and servile worship of a 'god' is repugnant to anyone with half a brain. Abrahamists are like women in a way, because they outsource their sovereignty to an external force they believe is above them. Why would an omnipotent god want slaves anyway? You'd think He'd prefer independent free thinks who'd challenge Him, not sycophants and toadies.
