Decentralization of themes. Every 5 years or so we get one cool idea with good execution, and then a thousand cheap chinese knockoffs trying to imitate it. It happend to Slenderman, FNaF, analog horror, the backrooms, etc. The problem is that to fix it, we would need to fix the current internet as awhole, where masses swarm toward whats popular and regurgitate it until the new cool thing spawns.
