Politics that exist within the context of the universe are perfectly fine, they're just used for world building within the context of the games closed universe.
Identity politics are just forced bullshit that have no place in any kind of setting, Veilguard is supposed to be a universe of magic and dragons, using actual IRL gender terminology just completely takes you out of the world.
It would be like an ace in Ace Combat wanting to kill you because you mis-gendered them once, its fucking stupid.
