there are many ways you can optimize a game in unreal engine. nothing stopping you from using old tech such as baked lighting, forward rendering etc and most of stuff such as lumen and nanite can be turned off. hell, even making your own shaders to make a game look similar to another. it's literally a skill issue (and experience).
