The Republic needed an army and quick so they sped up the aging process. Also when you take into account of Darth Sidious I think he did eventually want the clones phased out if all went well so yea, much rather them die of old age then get into a potential conflict in the future with the soldiers that literally wiped out like 95% of all the Jedi. idk it all makes sense when you look into it
