how does this even fucking work when there is NO alternative. thats the entire point of a monopoly. you have product, everyone wants product, your the only company that sells said product, thus you can get away with fucking the quality, cutting costs, etc, etc. if another service pops up trying to offer a better service, you litigate the fuck out of them - see how rockefeller basically bought the competition out to form his monopoly on oil. or how major ISPs put a stop to google fiber.
