We're one month away. Let's do this, EUbros. Remember that ideally we need to go over the number of sigs in case some of these get thrown out later.
No background shenanigans and not the same poster so now jannies have no excuse. If they delete this thread it's provably because they just don't want /v/ to discuss SKG. In which case, spam this shit nonstop until they give up. If Dall-E threads are allowed, this is allowed too.
I think signing an initiative to stop developers from being kikes is a good thing.
>Weekend: Pizza posted, nonce was deleted and threads were allowed to continue
>Today: Monkey gore and entire threads deleted
There is something fishy going on. Hiroshmoot must've cleared a cheque
>714238216
This unironically has made the most sense to me this entire time. It being less about preserving EU games but moreso creating a universal standard seems like a really good initiative. Thanks anon
how long will this one last before it gets swarmed with monkey gore.
also why would someone have that much videos of that?

>>714238669>This initiative isn't even certain. It's just to get EU Government to bother looking at it>Non-EUs can't sign itYou're correct here, /vt/umor
>>EU devs won't be able to EoS a online-only game without significant heads up to potential customers>EU devs can alternatively EoS a game without issue should they provide a feasible way for consumers to host their own serversIncorrect here, /vt/umor. It's not "EU devs", it's anyone that wants to have their game on the EU market, which for all intents and purposes means everyone. This is similar to Europe forced gacha games to have lootbox clarity in their regions so now every game has it everywhere, or how Australia forced Steam to allow refunds so now everyone can refund games on Steam.
Mods are completely inconsistent with what rules they enforce its no wonder people fucking hate them.
When is this site going to tackle the problem of Leto and the 'Ecker supplying all known spammers and shitposters with their proxies.
Legitimately we get rid of those two and the entire site improves over night.
>>714238634Earlier today the threads were kinda overflowing.
By that I mean there were multiple threads occurring at once and people entering unrelated threads to bring up SKG.
It feels less like someone being paid off and more like people are just tired of being spammed with it.
Unironically, the same thing happened with the piratesoftware stuff.
>>714238702Because jannies are lazy and just delete threads that get spammed with that shit. It's a thread killer. Retarded jannies don't realize that they just incentivize gore posting.
>>714238765Too bad. This shit is important and now there's 3 threads on the SKG catalog because jannies are retarded and deleted the one we are using. This will keep happening unless they get a clue.
If necessary, delete the overflowing threads so that there's only one on the catalog. That's obviously the best thing to do. But there SHOULD be ONE in the catalog, and jannies aren't gonna force people to stay quiet about this. We're one month away from the deadline.
>>714238863>Too bad.Kinda, yeah. It's why the threads are being deleted from what I can tell.
>>714238889They'll keep getting made, then. This shit is bigger than the janny's non-salaries now. And that's a good thing.

In the last 12 hours
Jacksepticeye made a post supporting SKG
Penguinz0 made a video supporting it
So did some ordinary gamer
r/gaming pinned a thread about it (it had 47 million subscribers)
It's kind of insane how this niche topic exploded with normalfags
Alright, so if this thread lives, it does look like the jannies were only deleting the threads cause they knew it was some ban evader faggot that was using SKG as an excuse to keep spamming, which is understandable.
But obviously it was a bit confusing for the rest of us. Some transparency would have been nice there, lads.

>>714238471 (OP)Jannies should just pin the thread and allow discussions to centralize into that thread. Instead they're acting like a bunch of butthurt queers who forgot to dilate. God I hate the people who run this site.
We all finally have a chance to improve ONE (read: 1) thing in this god forsaken industry where a million things are wrong with it and stupid ass jannies are having a dilation session like little pussies.

A week ago, I was annoyed at the faggots saying that the literal who Pirate Software was responsible for killing the movement, which was such obvious bullshit it was hilarious. Ross himself obviously did not do a good enough job at promoting the campaign.
I will, however, concede that it seems like this movement is gonna succeed off of the back of this whole e-celeb drama, which is funny. Guess e-celebs and kiwitroons were finally good for one thing. The only way this shit could be promoted properly is if it was to make fun of some fatass. Weird how the world works. We need to have someone to hate to not shoot ourselves in the foot. This is probably a similar logic as to why I see so many AI shills on /v/. They're more worried about annoying the trannies than saving vidya from slopfication. In other words, we need some tranny to become a big AI fan for /v/ to get better about the AI jew question.

IMPORTANT POST
Just incase you get swayed by mouthbreathing retards who seemingly can't read in any capacity.
THIS BILL IS NOT FORCING DEVS TO SUPPORT A GAME FOREVER.
It is clearly asking that when devs decide to pull the plug on online services they:
A. Provide a set of server tools for people to run their own servers and be able to connect to servers.
B: Leave the game in a state where it can be played offline without a reliance on the online servers.
That is literally it. No, it's not asking devs to support the game forever. Only corpo bootlicker shills are thinking that.

EA has also updated all the Mission Editor and World Builder tools, which allows for publishing maps directly to the Steam Workshop. Apart from this, the company has added another update, which had been "another wish from the community for almost 15 years": the launch of a C&C Modding Support pack. It contains the source Xml, Schema, Script, Shader and Map files for all the games that use the SAGE engine.

SKG infringes on private property rights. Games are intellectual property (IP). Intellectual property is not sold as a product, it is a service that is accessed by licenses, which can be sold as a product. When a license has its access revoked, the ownership of the license is not affected. Therefore, the property rights of the consumer is not infringed. However, if restrictions are placed on the IP owner's ability to control access to their property, then their property rights are infringed.

>>714244330This is mental retardation. Steam does have DRM, yes, but its to the developer's discretion if they want to use it. Some just release their game as is on steam without any crap - meaning you can just launch the .exe without an problems, even copy the game, paste it onto a flash drive so you can play it on the go without any issue. It's all up to the developer if they want supplemental DRM implemented. Again, this entire movement isn't as complex or demanding as some retarded ass game dev shills are leading you to think. The motherfuckers just don't want to do the bare minimum work to facilitate their game to function past its end of life, because they want you to still stay subscribed to their services as big publisher see you as potential revenue to sell MTX, DLC, etc; or so past game doesn't compete with future product.

>>714244284>the IP owner's ability to control access to their property>their propertyThis is where the EU draws the line. Once you've sold a license for a product to a customer it is theirs. Because digital content is such a new thing and politicians are old retards it's being very slowly implemented, but digital content like movies, music and video games that let you make a one-time purchase to use it ad infinitum are generally being considered as legally closer to products.
There really is no real-world analogue for what SKG is trying to prevent. The closest thing really is a company coming into your home and physically destroying the product you purchased. But obviously that's not perfect because with digital content there is some degree of upkeep on the side of the seller. For many games this isn't an issue but some have online elements that companies just don't want to spend any money on maintaining nor are they willing to pay devs to make the game accessible after they take servers down.
Ultimately, SKG is trying to make it so the EU steps in and tells publishers that - as part of their development process - they need to have an end-of-life plan in place for any games which require it. Whether that means releasing server tools, making the content available offline or just not making live service games at all doesn't matter. What matters is that customers continue to have access to a functional version of the digital content they paid for.
