I know all of that. The original post was about how there is this nasty spot in Act 1, where you don't have access to proper tools to counter it and how infuriating that can be.
It's all about action economy. It doesn't really matter if you can spend level 2 spell-slot to temporarily remove effects of Stink on single target - and the caster needs to not be nauseated to cast them - which is hard considering that stink cloud is the size of entire screen. And there will always be more dretches, each of them capable of throwing down.
And delay poison is on fixed ten-minute duration so it will not last if you want to move on city map.
Communal Delay Poison is pretty much only thing that allows you to skip it efficently enough.
