Anyone else always hated how the subweapon system is implemented in classicvania games?

Been playing like 10 minutes and already ready to drop it
>only two fucking fixed jump paths, either straight up, or in a big arc. No analog jumps, no short hops, no small arcs, no ability to adjust while falling
>extremely similar level designs, enemies, weapons, graphics/artstyle, mechanics, and soundtrack to the first game. Basically just feels like an expansion or romhack
>most subweapons are worthless and they are permanently lost if you die once or accidentally touch a new subweapon
>broken hitboxes (spikes oneshotting you despite being many pixels above your sprite's head)
>same stupid wall turkey shit where you have to whack every single wall in the game for hopes of an HP refill
>whip has an extremely long delay to it
>whip upgrades that serve no purpose beyond feeling like shit the first 15 seconds when you respawn
>right edge of the screen has an open path that looks you can progress, but no, it's just an invisible wall and you are meant to take the stairs down (not a big deal, just shows how lazy and unpolished it is for this to appear in the first five minutes)
Everything about this game just feels *BAD* from the shitty jump mechanics, to the delayed whip, to the annoying subweapon system, to the boring and samey level design.
