3D World's movement is too overly simple, it doesn't need to be 64-tier but they could have added the backflip, sideflip, and long jump just for a little bit of depth.
However, 3DW has some of the best level design in the Mario series for the course style and the different characters are great to play as and the powerups are integrated well with each character's movement that helps make the way you use each of them just a little bit different. 3DW is much better than all the other course style Mario games like Wonder and NSMB.
The post game level was also really fun, you unlock Rosalina way too late though even though the level is fitting.
I don't think Galaxy is bad but I think it's the weakest one out of those choices because while the gravity fields are cool, the movement just isn't for me with how simple it is and the motion control gimmicks like the blue stars and the ball get old very quickly.
The gravity focus also affected level design and I think most of Galaxy's levels are pretty boring to replay, Galaxy level design is at it's best when it starts using the black holes as an actual threat in the later half of the game
Powerups are handled best here out of all the 3D Mario's and I have no idea why Nintendo doesn't bring back stuff like the Ice Flower (just remove the timers) and expand on it, it'd be much more interesting than what Odyssey did
Comets are a good idea but the way you go through them makes them get kinda boring and you just turn your brain off, they were handled much better in Galaxy 2
