The Process Church was in Atlanta when there was a string of child murders there and in the Greater Toronto Area at the time when two sisters disclosed horrific and detailed accounts of child abuse leading to a highly publicized custody hearing. The girls claimed their parents as well as their mother's boyfriend were involved in a child pornography / snuff ring with multiple other adults - some identified, some not. They described being taken on nightly trips to a local television station, CHCH-11, where they were forced along with other children to participate in child pornography - and they were able to describe its interior accurately to the police. They went on to describe how children were tortured, murdered, and mutilated as cameras rolled, described satanic ceremonies, and described the murde. CHCH refused to participate in the investigation, and Hamilton-Wentworth Regional Police, who made some serious "errors" during the investigation (misplacing evidence, alerting suspects to the investigation long before searching their houses, not recording interviews with suspects, not bringing the girls to any private graveyards, etc.), dismissed the girls' claims despite mounting evidence. At one point, there was a break-in at the Children's Aid Society and they accused police of trying to steal their files.
There were indications that the Toronto / Hamilton cult was multigenerational, as such networks tend to be. There was a history of abuse and pedophilia in their mother's family, and her brothers' room was painted all black and adorned with animal skulls. The girls' father had been a friend of her mother and brothers, suggesting the possibility their union may have been arranged by this network. One of her brothers would later be accused of molesting one of the girls. All the while, the Process chapter was operating there and received federal government subsidies from a program called 'Local Initiatives'.
