This is what I've been thinking this whole time, have the chapters not take place literally one after the other. I'd say they could've gotten away with implying a month of distance has passed between two of the chapters, even.
And they wouldn't have needed to show every single moment on screen or anything like that, just give a suggestion that time HAS passed and it would feel more natural. I think it would've also somewhat helped Suselle a bit since you can easily fill in the blanks for what character interactions might've happened while you were away.

Also this, that one's also a glaring issue. It barely even feels like she's had any character growth with the way things happen in the game. Missed all potential for her to have built any sort of meaningful connection with characters outside of Kris and Ralsei.
