I have always wanted to get into the adventure game genre but never played one before, I get scared off when people talk about adventure games having esoteric puzzle design.

What are some adventure games that could work as an introduction to the medium? I thought picrel could work

Blade Runner succeeds as a novel, a movie and a video game. Are there any other examples of books which succeeded in all three mediums when they were adapted? Only Stalker comes to mind
