Ok you're right, I did misunderstand. That's better, than just straight up speech generation, but I wouldn't put it at the same level as autotune and voice modulation. Those tools have the creator adjust the audio to reach the desired result, that voice you hear in the end is not just a facsimile of another actor's voice. If all parties agree to this then fine, but I'm still not a fan.
I guess I'm just a luddite.
