picrel was a woman on reddit who was giving me genuine advice and got a lot of upvotes for saying that. It was a general thread i made asking for advice on how to suggest better date locations (it was really more about me asking how to learn to say no to boys) and maybe 80% of the fifty or so comments were just horror stories about their friends that got dateraped or otherwise things along the lines of

when ive talked to other people at my school there have been times theyve told me

one time i met this girl on bumble BFF (its like bumble but for friends yeah it suck) and the second time i met her she said if i downloaded a dating app i would certainly get assaulted

When i told my therapist about it all he had to say was

When i excitedly told people about the first date i had been taken on they told me it sounded like a horror story and are shocked i wasnt hurt

when i told my mom she basically said the same and we had a talk but it was a terrible talk because when she was my age she was almost married and the only clase call she had was with a man on a hookup website in the 90s

she had nothing to say i didnt actually know
