It fizzled out after the first season or so. They did focus too much on the misery porn and not enough on the funny comedy of talking animal people, which had so much potential.
Seems like there were a lot characters in that time who fit this profile of
>Miserable RICH guy going through bad things, but he's RICH and FAMOUS so he's not a LOSER and you feel you can root for him.
The rich and famous part prevents a total wash out and crash of the character, but the misery and depression over relationships or drugs makes him relatable to normies.
