I imagine they would have mentioned it during the Live Letter, but since it only really affects the people in Crystal rank onwards for next reason, I don't think it's enough to justify a full ranked reset for everyone else.
I also admittedly haven't played Ranked this season etiher, so we're both in trouble if we don't get a match in soon.

Think about what content you enjoy doing and find other players in that community. Having a common interest is extremely helpful for breaking the ice, and when you routinely see each other for content, it's not too difficult to turn familiar faces into friends.
