Same here. A lot of guys shoot for the trophy wife or as good as they can get and then wonder why they lose 70% of their net worth in 5 years when she takes half and the lawyer takes the rest. You can't have a pretty wife and a happy life, especially in this day and age. My wife comes from the part of the world where you'd be lucky to make the equivalent of $5 USD a day, to her my paycheck looks fake. We'll go to the thrift store and she will spend 30 minutes deciding if her $3 basket is too much or if she needs to take some things out. I just let it happen. I'm on track to retire at 38.
