nearly recovered then 2008 happened
still fucked...
this is either an irreversible long term secular decline or about to go through an enormous reversion to the mean event, likely powered by AI and/or re-industrializing and a new baby boom following World War 3, that will utterly incinerate bears with no survivors.
But the problem is even if it's secular decline like you said the line can still keep going up, bears will still suffer, just not be completely vaporized.
